Cat Ba Nomad started with a simple frustration. We kept meeting travellers who’d come all this way only to be herded onto a crowded boat, rushed through the busy spots, and sent home without ever seeing the island we know and love. We thought we could do it better, the way we’d show a friend around.

So we kept it small. Small groups, local guides, and trips we’d genuinely take ourselves: kayaking the quiet corners of Lan Ha Bay, trekking the national park trails, cycling out to villages where life moves slowly. We share the hidden beaches and the good seafood spots, and we tell you the honest truth about what’s worth your time.

We were born here. We know which lagoons stay calm in the afternoon, where the langurs sometimes appear on the cliffs, and which days the weather will turn. That local knowledge is the whole point.
