Booking runs on WhatsApp. You get the full inclusions list in writing before you pay anything.
Weather. Boats do not sail in unsafe conditions, and that call belongs to the captain rather than to a booking screen. Typhoon risk on this coast peaks in July and August, and August alone averages around 280 mm of rain across 17 wet days. If a trip cannot run we contact you the evening before or first thing that morning and set out the options available that day: move to another date, switch to a land based alternative, or cancel. The exact terms for your booking are confirmed in writing before you pay.
Changing or cancelling. Message us as early as you can. The earlier we know, the more we can do, and in most cases moving your date is simpler than cancelling outright.
Boat night or homestay. Sleeping on the boat gives you sunrise over the water and no transfer in the morning. A Viet Hai homestay gives you a valley that goes completely silent once the day boats leave. Both cost the same on this trip, so pick on feel. Tell us at booking and we will hold the right one.
Common questions
Yes. Hanoi Old Quarter pickup is standard, and we also arrange Noi Bai airport and Hai Phong. The transfer itself takes three to five hours depending on the route, and current options and fares are set out in our Hanoi to Cat Ba guide.
It is the right length if Cat Ba is one stop on a longer Vietnam trip. If the island is the point of the trip, three days is better, one for the water, one for the park, one for the island itself.
This one runs as a small group with a set shape. The 3D2N is private, includes both the trek and Viet Hai rather than making you choose, and adds a second night and a third day on the water.
Then you take the homestay option, same price. Just tell us when you book.
